Former Judge of the Superior Court of the State of New Jersey, and a former Presiding Judge of the Family Part of the Superior Court, Morris County, Robert Penza began his career as an Assistant Essex County Prosecutor, and headed the Prosecutor's Official Corruption and Economic Crime Department. He has also served as a Deputy Attorney General. He is a member of the Bars of the State of New Jersey and the State of New York, and is admitted to the practice before the United States District Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He is a member of the New Jersey State, Essex and Morris County Bar Associations, and the Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers of New Jersey. He serves on the Executive Board of the Court Appointed Special Advocates Program, which assists children in relation to the Family Courts. He served as a Master for the Inns of Court and lectures on various aspects of Family Court practice at various Inns of Court, the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education seminars. He is a Family Court Appointed Blue Ribbon Panelist in both Morris and Essex Counties. He is a former Adjunct Professor at Seton Hall University Law School, and a former member of the Editorial Board of The New Jersey Lawyer. He has been recognized in New Jersey Monthly magazine's "Super Lawyers" in 2009 and 2010. He is recognized in the field of Criminal Defense for White Collar and Non-White Collar in the 2010 edition of Best Lawyers, the oldest and most respected peer-view publication in the legal profession. Mr. Penza was awarded a rating of AV Preeminent from LexisNexis Martndale-Hubbell. This is the highest possible rating in both legal ability and ethical standards earned through a strenuous peer review rating process.
