Mr. Plawker practices in the areas of commercial litigation, attorney ethics, criminal defense, intellectual property licensing, copyright, trademark, unfair competition, and employment law. He has successfully completed major software licensing transactions with J.P. Morgan, Bank of Boston, Deloitte & Touche, Nomura, Lehman Brothers, Deutsche Morgan Grenfell, Advanta Mortgage, MBIA, Ocwen Financial, The Money Store, AMRESCO, Fannie Mae, Morgan Stanley, KPMG Peat Marwick, Pricewaterhouse Cooper, Greenwich Nat.West, Credit Suisse First Boston, among others. He is a graduate of Vassar College and the University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School where he was a Note and Comment Editor of the Wisconsin International Law Journal and author of A Soviet Contradiction: Socialist Federalism and the Freedom of Secession, Wisconsin International Law Journal, Vol. 10, No. 1, Fall 1991. Upon graduation, he received the Ruth B. Doyle Award for outstanding service to the law school community. He holds a degree also in Russian language from The Pushkin Institute in Moscow. He served during the 1992 to 1993 term as law clerk to the Honorable Sybil R. Moses, Assignment Judge of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Bergen County. He has been recognized in New Jersey Monthly magazine's "Super Lawyers" in 2010.
