Mr. Spies has been with the firm since 1977. He is a graduate of Boston University and Seton Hall University Law School, where he served as Comments Editor of the Seton Hall Law Review. He authored, Note, "N.J. Franchise Act," Seton Hall Law Review, 1972. He has chaired the Supreme Court's District V-C Fee Arbitration Committee and is a former member and Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the Senior Citizens' Housing Corporation of Livingston. He is a member of the New Jersey State and Essex County Bar Associations, and is a member of the Equity Jurisprudence Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association. He has served as a lecturer for the Essex County Bar Association, Equity Jurisprudence Committee and the New Jersey Institute of Continuing Legal Education on the subject of Trade Secrets and Restrictive Covenant Litigation. He was appointed in 1996 to be a Contract Arbitrator for the Essex County Superior Court. His practice focuses on corporate/shareholder litigation, distributorship/antitrust litigation, management and labor relations, and commercial litigation.
